Google Chrome Zero-Day Vulnerability Exploited in the Wild

A new high severity vulnerability in Google Chrome has been discovered. We are aware that exploits exist in the wild, and has been reported targeting MENA. It is suggested to apply the recommendations below in order to prevent security incidents from happening.

 

Google has released a new update to fix 14 security flows for the Chrome browser, one of which is being actively exploited with severity level High (CVE-2021-30551) related to type confusion in its JavaScript engine V8. It affects Google Chrome for Windows, Mac and Linux. 

Recommendation: 

It is recommended to update Google Chrome to version 91.0.4472.101 as soon as possible to prevent vulnerability exploitation. Please refer to the original vendor release page for more information.
